HIGHLIGHTS
For World Water Day, the Global Cities Hub and UN-Habitat organized a Geneva Urban Debate to exchange practical experiences and reflect on global water governance. As cities continue to confront mounting water challenges, the debate underscored that solutions already exist, but their success hinges on political will, inclusive governance, and sustained investment.
Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) have become an increasingly important instrument for cities and regions to work on SDGs, to “translate” them into the local and subnational dimension. However, a critical question remains: What comes after the initial/first VLR? The event aims to move the discussion forward to second-generation implementation pathways.
